Ron Crowder is an award-winning singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist. An Albuquerque native, Ron grew up in a very musical family. “From the time I was born, my home was filled with music, day and night. Except for a brief time when I was really young where I dreamed of playing in the NBA,” said Crowder, laughing, “there was never a doubt in my mind what I wanted to do with my life.”
Ron studied study music theory and composition, and English literature at the University of New Mexico. Since that time, he has gone on to win numerous awards (Tellys, Silver Microphones, Addys, American Marketing Association) as a writer, producer, recording engineer and composer for TV and radio commercials, as well as short films for clients throughout the U.S. and Canada. He has also traveled the world as a touring and recording musician, sharing the stage with acts as diverse as Three Dog Night and The Persuasions, among many others.
Today, in addition to his work in the recording studio, he performs regularly in the Southwestern U.S. as a solo artist and side man. His new CD, “Liberty,” was released in September. The title track was awarded Best Song at the 2018 New Mexico Music Awards and is receiving regular airplay on KBAC Radio Free Santa Fe and KUNM in Albuquerque.
“Music has always moved me,” said Crowder. “It’s always been able to make me feel, deeply, and even make me cry. The only thing that would mean anything to me now is if my music could move people the way I have been moved by my favorite songwriters. That’s my goal with every song I write.” More info >>
