The Barefoot Movement
June 24, 2013 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Toe-tapping “Footwork.” The Barefoot Movement “embodies all the things that I love about what is referred to as “traditional” music.” High praise from 5 time Grammy-winner Adam Steffey. “They are both great players, singers AND arrangers of ORIGINAL songs.”
This quartet of talented musicians from North & South Carolina and Tennessee blends Americana influences with acoustic modern rock and jazz creating original songs with a sound immediately accessible and modern. The Barefoot Movement was formed when members Noah Wall, singer and fiddler, and Tommy Norris, mandolin player were in high school and began setting Noah’s lyrics to Tommy’s chords. They soon met up with rhythm guitarist Quentin Acres and in 2011 bassist Hasee Ciaccio joined the group. The group has toured extensively in the US, playing festivals and concert dates along the Eastern seaboard, the Midwest and West.
Their debut album “Footwork” features songs written by Noah as well as traditional tunes. “Call it folk, bluegrass, Americana, down home, back porch, NAC—whatever you like, just be sure to call it killer. If more Americana sounded like this, weʼd be riding a folk music wave that hasnʼt been seen since the early 60s. A winner throughout.” — Midwest Record
